300 Jahre Urheberrecht

Ich bin ein wenig spät dran, aber der Economist und der Telegraph erinnern lesenswert daran, dass das Urheberrecht wie wir es kennen, im April 300 Jahre alt wurde. Im Telegraph schreibt Shane Richmond:

The entertainment industry maintains constant pressure to extend copyright terms. Those who oppose them are frequently caricatured as hippy idealists whose impractical plans would destroy creativity. And yet even those who are typically the friends of business are beginning to come around to the idea that copyright terms should in fact be shorter, not longer.

The best birthday present the Statute of Anne could receive would be a return to the copyright terms that it originally introduced.
